UPT SESPARLU
Senior Diplomatic School Training (Diklat Sesparlu) is the highest level of functional training for Indonesian diplomats. Its implementation refers to Minister of Foreign Affairs Regulation Number 9 of 2020 concerning Diplomat Functional Training.
This training is a means to enhance competency for senior Indonesian diplomats who have worked for approximately 15-17 years at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and have been assigned at the Missions of the Republic of Indonesia abroad at least twice. Senior Diplomatic Training is a prerequisite for senior diplomats to be considered and promoted to the Primary High Leadership Position (JPT) and obtain the diplomatic title of Minister Counsellor.
In 2024, Pusdiklat in cooperation with The State Administration Institute (LAN) organized the Integration of the Sesparlu Training Batch 74 and National Leadership Training Grade II (PKN II). The integration training takes place from early March to late July 2024 and can be participated by 30 senior diplomats.
Requirements
Passes the Administrative Selection (has a decree of appointment to the Senior Level or a certificate of passing the Competency Test for promotion to the Senior Level from Head of Centre for Functional Positions Management (Pusbinjabfung) or is in the rank of IV/a, TOEFL score of at least 550/other equivalent international language scores, SKP for the last 2 years with at least good results, has a Sesdilu certificate).
Not currently undergoing a medium or severe disciplinary penalty, and/or under investigation for suspected moderate or serious disciplinary violations
The quota is 20-30 participants
Training Schedule and Duration
The 74th batch of Senior Diplomatic Training will be held from March to July 2024 while the duration is 20-21 weeks.
Objective or Training Purpose
The Senior Diplomat Training aims to enhance the technical, managerial and socio-cultural competencies of Senior Diplomat, in the fields of diplomacy and international relations, management, and leadership. The Senior Diplomatic Training focuses on improving three competencies at a strategic level, which are, knowledge, skills, and attitude.
Sesparlu Training prepares participants as prospective leaders who have leadership character, adaptable to the ever-changing external situation, and able to ensure that all resources under its coordination contribute to the achievement of the institution's mission.
Implementation of Sesparlu Training Integration and PKN II Integration aims to develop the competence of senior diplomats, especially leadership competencies according to national standards set by the State Administration Institute (LAN).
Learning Methods
The focus of the training material is leadership and strategic breakthroughs, with classical learning methods in the form of discussions and seminars, as well as non-class such as TASKAP (individual work papers), Multi-stages Negotiation Simulation (MSNS), Leaders’ Fellowship, Final Project, and Provincial/Regional Field Visits in Indonesia.
